The visual op-ed columnist for TheNew York Times, Charles M. Blow, has put together a new chart called "American Shame," a comparison of the United States and other industrialized nations in a variety of success metrics—level of democracy, and unemployment rate are but a few. It turns out that America might not be as wonderful as she thinks she is.
"America is great in many ways," writes Blow, "but on a whole host of measures—some of which are shown in the accompanying chart—we have become the laggards of the industrialized world. Not only are we not No. 1 ... we are among the worst of the worst."
