For October's challenge, we're asking you to get healthy, from your feet to your teeth to your brain.
Start sprouting.
I know it's a little out there, but I love sprouting.
If you haven't done it before, I can assure you that watching those dormant little dried lentils, beans, seeds, or nuts come to life, expand, and grow little tails is really satisfying—I'm pretty sure it has something to do with how fast they grow. Think sea monkeys.
I remember my first time sprouting. "I can do this. All I need to do is add water, and voila," I thought to myself as a filled a mason jar with green lentils and water. In the past, I've been known to kill plants. Last week, I finally had to throw out my cactus. It's virtually impossible to kill a cactus, but that didn't stop me. So I made sure to follow these instructions for sprouting. And the next morning, I was greeted by sprouting legumes.
After watering for three days, my sprouts were ready. Happy snacking.
