Don't Call China's Internet "Censored"

After China and Google's recent squabble, Hillary Clinton gave a rather nice speech saying that internet censorship is a human rights problem, and named some countries that do it, including China. China, apparently, doesn't think that internet censorship is much of a problem, as the Chinese Foreign Ministry has accused the United States of "using the so-called Internet freedom question to level baseless accusations."So-called internet freedom question? What do they call internet freedom in China? The People's Bureau of Glorious Not Knowing About Tibet or Taiwan?A state newspaper in China also got in on the action. Suffice it to say, they are not pleased.

"The U.S. campaign for uncensored and free flow of information on an unrestricted Internet is a disguised attempt to impose its values on other cultures in the name of democracy," the newspaper said, adding that the "U.S. government's ideological imposition is unacceptable and, for that reason, will not be allowed to succeed."

If China wants to keep their own citizens in the dark, that's one thing, but they seem to have forgotten that this whole thing started because they were hacking into U.S. companies' email accounts? Might they have messed with the wrong GMail?Funny story, at one point, this very website was banned in China.
