Dr. Jan Gurley created this simple, universal how-to video to help aid workers combat cholera in Haiti.

Cholera broke out in Haiti a month ago with a few isolated cases. It's now claimed about 800 lives and the situation is getting worse. In the video above, via Boing Boing, Dr. Jan Gurley demonstrates how to make what's known as "oral rehydration therapy," a solution of salts and sugars that helps keep people with cholera alive. All you need is salt, sugar, water, and a few bottle caps.
Dr. Gurley hopes the video will get passed around widely and eventually make to the smart phones of aid workers and others in Haiti. Only too happy to oblige.
