Well, this is awesome: a charming-looking rocking horse that harvests kinetic energy while kids play on it. As it gathers more energy, the lights on the handles get brighter, and then they can be removed and used as flashlights.Never mind how practical that specific use is-I haven't used a flashlight in about a decade, have you?-and focus on the technology and the potential for this to be used in places where flashlights might actually be useful. It will show at the Greener Gadgets expo, which is holding a competition right now for best gadget, and this thing is currently in the lead. This might not satisfy Jervey's criteria of a gadget that makes it easy for us to use less energy, but it definitely satisfies my criteria of being fun.Via Inhabitat
