Tell a Story About a Great Teacher, Earn Money for Teachers
Here's a fun-sounding new program launched by the Microsoft search engine Bing and the teacher-supporting nonprofit Donors Choose to commemorate Teacher Appreciation Month. The idea is simple: Tell a story about a teacher who played an important role in your life, and Bing will give you a $5 donation (to give to Donors Choose) to help other teachers. They'll will also mail the comment to the teacher's school.
The stories are short and sweet (as in roughly 20 words long), and you can read them all here, though after an early glance my favorite is this one from a student at Richie Park Elementary School in Potomac, Maryland, who writes: "I will never forget Mrs. B because she helped me read."
