After years of dreaming, designing, and campaigning, the first section of the High Line park-built on top of an old elevated rail structure-opened in New York yesterday. We've been following this project for a while (in 2006, GOOD cited the High Line as an example of "the next generation of American public spaces") and it's very nice to see it come to fruition.Inhabitat has a big set of pictures. Is that a chaise lounge on train tracks?UPDATE: Inhabitat has added a great video of the High Line that includes interviews with Scofidio and Corner.
