We covered the Garden in Transit project a while ago. They covered New York City taxis in painted flowers as a way to involve students in a public art project and make use of the traveling canvas that is the city's fleet of plain yellow taxis.
Tomorrow, from 10am to 6pm Garden in Transit will be handing out 80,000 donated flowers in Union Square's North Plaza and in twenty schools around the city. If you're in the city, go be a part of a monumental, collective work of art on your lunch break.
