This week, Fed Ex announced its first electric fleet. "Fleet" might be an overstatement, since there are only four of them for now, but it's a start, and best of all, they're debuting in Los Angeles, which could use a little break on exhaust. The catch of course is that they cost a fortune, so it'll likely be a while yet before Fed Ex can replace its entire nationwide fleet with them, but they're still leading the delivery-truck pack with their use of hybrid vehicles. Depending how the testing goes in L.A., the pilot could expand, and either way Fed Ex stands to inspire other companies to clean up their acts.Via Fast Company
