Here, from the fantastic OkCupid blog, is a chart showing how people's political views change as they age. According to their analysis-which looked at 172,853 people-we start out as socially and economically permissive libertarians, turn into tax-loving Democrats as we enter the job market, then tax-hating Republicans as we start moving up the ranks, and finally cross over to become authoritarians in our stodgy 50s and beyond. There aren't units on the axes, so we don't know how much people's views tend to change over time, but it's interesting, and maybe a little discouraging, that our personal circumstances seem to dictate our political beliefs this way.Via Cliff Kuang
