A recent chart comparing the deaths caused per watt produced of key energy sources ignited a fiery debate about the relative merits of and problems with nuclear, oil, and coal.


To many who saw the chart, the issue boiled down to the relative safety of nuclear versus coal. While we don't think that the limited nuclear versus coal framing is fair or comprehensive (wind, concentrated solar, geothermal anyone?), it's an important and illuminating conversation nonetheless.
