‘MAKE MEXICO GREAT AGAIN ALSO’
via Twitter
After realizing that 77 percent of Americans are vehemently against his plan to deport the 11 million-plus undocumented immigrants in the U.S., the Donald Trump campaign set out to soften its stance. Yesterday, the Republican Party nominee went to Mexico to meet with President Enrique Peña Nieto. After their meeting, Trump played nice at a press conference where he was complimentary about Nieto and the Mexican people. Later that evening, Trump appeared at a campaign rally in Phoenix where he went back to his old demagogue ways with a venomous policy speech that showed very little sign of a softening of his immigration stance.
At his Phoenix rally, Trump’s opening act consisted of former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani and Alabama senator Jeff Sessions. While both are no strangers to the Trump campaign, their headgear generated eye rolls across the country. Both wore white hats similar to Trump’s cheap-looking “MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN” ball cap that read “MAKE MEXICO GREAT AGAIN ALSO.” The idea that the Trump campaign cares about a country he’s been lambasting for 15 months is ridiculous. Plus, who sticks an adverb (“also”) at the end of a sentence?
As one can guess, the Internet had a blast with the new hat.
