Recreate, at home, a meal you love to order at a restaurant. Find a recipe online, or if you're feeling adventurous—wing it!
Things are easier said than done, or so the old adage goes, and we couldn't agree more. That's why we do 30 Days of GOOD (#30DaysofGOOD), a monthly attempt to live better. Our challenge for June? Make your own meals.
Today’s challenge is to recreate, at home, a meal that you love to order at a restaurant.
There are a couple ways to go about this task, depending on how comfortable you are with riffing in the kitchen. Feeling adventurous? Then wing it. Whether it's a burrito or a fancy steak plate, think about how it's put together and see if you can guess how to arrive at the end result.
Want to play it safer? Look around online or in cookbooks for the recipe. (There is no shortage of people out there recreating fancy restaurant dishes at home.) Even though you’re following instructions, you still get the satisfaction of making for yourself what is usually served up for you.
Have no leads? Ask the restaurant directly—just maybe they’ll be awesome enough to point you in the right direction.
As the culmination to a month’s worth of cooking at home, this task shouldn’t be too far out of reach. Share the final product with us in the comments section of this post.
Well, that's it for this month's 30 Days of GOOD challenge. Thanks so much for participating. I hope you had as much fun as I did. To keep up on what I’m up to, find me online at Hot Knives. And check back next week right here at GOOD.is for an all-new 30 Days of GOOD challenge.
