In our Neighborhoods Issue, we asked for your help in creating Neighbor Day, a designated holiday for spending time with the people we live near. We declared Neighbor Day to be the last Sunday in April. That was last Sunday, and we're thrilled to report that it kind of got off the ground.
In Austin, Texas, the good people of Bellvue Avenue celebrated with a barbeque in the street.
In Buena Vista, Colorado, neighbors in South Main got together for a river cleanup, pizza and beer, and s'mores.
These are pretty much exactly what we had in mind. Next year the last Sunday in April is the 24th. Mark your calendars.
