On the topic of controversial names and legal name changes, a judge in New Zealand has ordered two parents to change the name of their daughter, saying that he is appalled by their lack of judgment and that her name is a social disability.

Turns out her name is "Talula Does The Hula From Hawaii." Seriously? They let you write that on the birth certificate at the hospital? At least the kid's name can be easily shortened to something reasonable ("Talula," for example?), while other children, currently school-aged, in a particularly, um, creative region of New Zealand, don't even necessarily have names in their names.

Some of the less ordinary ones from this region include Violence, Kaos, Midnight Chardonnay, Fish and Chips (twins), and our personal favorite/least favorite, Number 16 Bus Shelter. Can't imagine what story might have gone along with that one...
