The House passed a bill increasing the minimum wage today. If all goes according to their plan (and there is a sharply divided Senate and a potentially unsympathetic president to contend with), the federal minimum wage will rise to $7.25 over the next two or so years. Sure, that would be great for workers, but there are questions about the impact of the potential new wage on small businesses and even the people it is supposed to benefit.
