If you’re going to rob somebody in public, remember to smile for the cameras.
If stealing from someone holding a camera seems like a bad idea, that’s because it is. Last month, at Pope Francis’s outdoor mass in Quito, Ecuador, one thief with a very different interpretation of the eighth commandment was caught on camera pickpocketing a musician holding a selfie stick. The man, Diego Miño, was followed through a dense crowd by the thief who eventually caught up to him and stole his phone right out of his front pocket. However, thanks to the video footage, the police have a lead that will hopefully result in him being brought to justice.
