This is sustainable home design at its most chic. After creating an impressive container home for the Bangkok home show last year, the designer Chuta Sinthuphan of Site-Specific was asked to come back to the show with another design this year. According to Treehugger, Sinthuphan took advantage of the opportunity and one-upped his previous home by incorporating rammed earth into the construction of the newest home. Treehugger spoke with Sinthuphan about the design:
So he designed the house to be built out of rammed earth and topped off with recycled steel prefab. "This year we featured the eco-home construction techniques from two extremes. One being the earth architecture. Another is the prefabricated construction. This home combines the two building systems into a cozy living space.
Treehugger has beautiful pictures of the house. The entire home is a testament to the versatility of materials and recycling. According to the designer, the whole garden features edible plants and the stairs are made from recycled steel and brick.Photo via Treehugger
