Rachel Sussman's "The Oldest Living Things in the World" (video after the jump) isn't a new project, but it's new to me, and it's currently blowing my mind. Sussman is a biologist an artist who's attempting to photograph living organisms around the world that are at least 2,000 years old. In five years of work, she's discovered things like trees, desert shrugs, predatory fungi, and things at the bottom of the ocean.

Isn't it awesome that there are living things on this planet whose birth years are followed by the letters B and C?
You can support Sussman's research (and her effort to turn that research into a book of photography) by making a donation at her Kickstarter page.
