When the collapse of Braddock, Pennsylvania's steel industry coincided with a population exodus in which 90 percent of its residents departed, a once vibrant city was on the verge of becoming a ghost town. But in recent years, seeds of change have begun to germinate. Led by an unlikely young mayor, the near-deserted Rust Belt town is attracting a new creative class who, together with longtime residents, aim to transform blight into a bright future.
