It’s been over three months since the death of Prince and his absence has left an unfillable void in music and culture. Prince was a rare artist who combined the sensual and spiritual in a funky sound that could turn out any party. In the wake of his death, anecdotes abound about how he was always the coolest guy in the room. Even when A-list actor Matt Damon met him at an after-party, he was nervous to speak with him.
Recently on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Damon told a story about meeting Prince after a concert he attended with his ten-year-old daughter. “We could reach up and touch Prince,” Damon told Fallon. “I turned to my wife and said, ‘We’ve completely ruined this child. This is her first concert!’ ” After the show, Damon saw Prince backstage and decided to make a little small talk with the legend, asking him: “You still live in Minnesota don’t you?” and his royal badness gave him the most Prince-like response, “I live inside my own heart, Matt Damon.”
