Maritime feminists and pirate-esque reproductive rights crusaders Women on Waves are taking their mission to the smart phone. The organization’s new app, “Safe abortion with pills” allows women around the globe to input their pregnancy status, location and reproductive desires in order to get quick and efficient assistance.
The unique app allows curious women to read up on every bit of reproductive law in their home country, find out if abortion pills are available to them, what clinics and organizations they can turn to for information and support in their area, and, most importantly, learn to how get the abortion pills into their possession using the app.

“With this app you always have information about medical abortion at hand, you can show women the animation to inform them about safe abortion with pills.” Women on Waves explains to interested health workers. “You can add their information through the online consultation so that is easy to register and follow up on the women in a protected environment.”
