Our understanding of space and the objects in it has grown rapidly over the last 50 years. But it's important to remember that each illuminating mission first takes years to prepare and then takes years of space travel, as probes fly to distant parts of the solar system. Our latest Transparency is a look at all the missions NASA has sent past Earth orbit, for which it now watches and waits for data. Some will be finished in a few years, others have been flying for nearly 40, slowly gathering data and beaming it back to Earth, or potentially waiting to be discovered by someone else out there.A collaboration between GOOD and Lamosca.
