A Foreign Policy index imparts an unfortunate piece of information about worldwide gender equality. Their graphic shows the percentage of college enrollment made up by females in various countries around the world. Globally, over the past two decades, women now dominate the colleges and universities. (In the United States, for instance, they make up 57 percent of students; even in Iran, they are up to 53 percent.)Unfortunately, as the item notes, the numbers in the classroom are not yet cutting gaps in the boardroom. A graphic we produced this summer adds more data to the picture, making it clear that we are still waiting for the preponderance of ladies on campuses to erase income and status gaps.Photo via Flickr user Aristocrat
