Google Wants to Help You Become Solar Powered

In addition to being the thing that makes me sweat my ass off during the summer, the sun is also a gigantic source of energy. If you’ve ever wondered why you don’t see more solar powered objects, or if you’ve ever wondered if you could harness the sun’s energy yourself – Google is here to help. This video introduces their new initiative, Project Sunroof, which will use Google Maps technology to show you how much energy you might be able to save if you installed solar panels. The initiative will also work to educate people so that they have the tools and resources to actually make solar power happen in their homes.
